Pen Improvements

Members harvested pine trees from the club grounds providing lumber for the project.  A solid foundation was made with poured concrete footings and block stem walls.  The harvested lumber was used to build the structure.  This major project will benefit generations to come!

Club sponsors a fish boil in August to show our appreciation for those landowners who support our club by allowing club members (at the owners discretion) use of their lands for hunting, fishing, or trapping. Along with providing members access for sports and hobbies, these landowners play a key role in conservation of natural lands in Door County.

2017 Landowners Appreciation Fish Boil

  • Monday, August 14

  • Knights of Columbus Hall, Sturgeon Bay

  • Social begins at 6 p.m.

  • Dinner around 6:30 p.m.

  • Show your appreciation for the landowners by bringing them to this special event

Pheasant Release

posted Sep 19, 2013, 5:36 PM by Jim Virgin   [ updated Oct 5, 2017, 1:13 PM by Roland Grosshuesch ]

Every spring our Club, through the WI DNR Day Old Chick Program, receives roughly 2400 pheasant chicks to raise through summer for release in fall.  A percentage of the grown birds are given back to the DNR for release on public lands.  The remainder is split among club members who have earned pheasants through volunteer work for the club.  In addition to providing birds for members to hunt, the Club sponsors a Youth Pheasant Hunt.
