Anyone born on or after January 1, 1973 is required to complete a hunter education course and present the certificate to purchase a hunting license in Wisconsin unless they are hunting in a mentorship program. The classes are open to students of any age, however it's recommended that they wait until they turn 12 years of age.

A person who completes the hunter education course is eligible to hunt and use legal rifles and shotguns with supervision at age 12 and without supervision at age 14.

For more information, contact DNR conservation warden Chris Kratcha AT (920) 746-2871.
